Who we are
Professional technical team in the field of photon computing
Company Profile
Jiuzhang (Jinan) Quantum Technology Co., Ltd. was established in November 2022. The company primarily engages in the R&D and manufacturing of key components across the full chain of photonic quantum computing, developing special-purpose photonic quantum simulators with practical application value, universal quantum computers, and educational products. The company aims to unite top talents in photonic quantum computing to help build China's quantum science and technology powerhouse, drive the development of the national quantum computing discipline, cultivate and gather talents for industry commercialization, enhance China's core competitiveness in quantum technology, and provide strong support for the "Innovation China" initiative.
The company originated from the "Jiuzhang" photonic quantum computing prototype team at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). The team has cultivated the field of photonic quantum computing for many years and possesses extensive experience in product R&D and engineering. Team members have been awarded the First Class National Natural Science Award and selected seven times into China's Top 10 Scientific and Technological Progresses of the Year.
The Jiuzhang team has achieved numerous world-leading breakthroughs in photonic quantum computers. Developed in 2020, "Jiuzhang" was the world's first photonic quantum computing prototype to demonstrate quantum computational advantage. Developed in 2021, "Jiuzhang 2.0" solved Gaussian Boson Sampling (GBS) 100 trillion times faster than a supercomputer, significantly enhancing the programmable computing capability of photonic quantum prototypes. In 2023, the "Jiuzhang 3.0" prototype was developed, solving GBS problems 100 million trillion times faster than supercomputers. The latest programmable photonic quantum computing prototype, "Jiuzhang 4.0," requires only 25.6 microseconds to complete a single Gaussian Boson Sampling task, achieving a speedup of approximately 10^54 times compared to the current fastest supercomputers. Building upon these breakthroughs, the team has successfully applied photonic quantum computing to practical real-world applications, including handwritten digit recognition, graph isomorphism detection, dense subgraph search, molecular docking, and molecular vibration spectrum calculation.
