Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) System
The Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) System is an educational instrument based on the BB84 QKD protocol. It enables the construction of complete quantum key distribution experiments, helping users gain a deep understanding of how the BB84 protocol is implemented in practice. Through this system, users can also experience the data encryption and decryption processes that follow key distribution.
The equipment consists of a transmitter unit (Alice) and a receiver unit (Bob), capable of preparing, transmitting, and detecting quantum polarization states while familiarizing students with critical components in optical fiber networks. The accompanying system software provides comprehensive functionality for data post-processing (sifting, error correction, and privacy amplification), key distribution, and encryption/decryption experiments—giving students hands-on experience with the entire QKD workflow.
